Petite Golden Cava-Doodles are a hybrid dog produced by breeding a Golden Retriever with a Poodle. The size and color of the puppies depends on the size and colors of the parent dog backgrounds. Golden Retrievers vary in coat shades from light, to medium golden, and copper-reds. Poodle coats can be white, cream, apricot, golden, red, chocolate or black! The texture can be curly, tight curls, slightly curly or just plain silky! Petite Golden Cava-Doodles size is determined mainly by the Poodle parent being either a Standard Poodle or a Miniature Poodle. Also, some Golden Retrievers are bred for larger size than "breed standard."

Coat Colors
White, cream, gold, red, apricot, copper. Most have white feathering. Sometimes ears are a shade darker than the rest of the coat!

When two unrelated breeds of dogs are bred, the first generation offspring puppies are referred to as hybrids. Hybrid puppies have stronger health and are superior to either of the purebred parent dogs. This is referred to as "hybrid vigor."
Crossbreeding two different purebreds is advisable only if desirable traits and strong characteristics will be produced in the resulting offspring. Golden Retrievers and Poodles are likely to complement each other. By cross breeding them, puppies result that are vigorous, stable and mentally strong, possessing the best qualities of both breeds.

Petite Golden Cava-Doodles puppies usually have a soft curl or wavy/shaggy coat, but not the wiry, stiff curls. Most Petite Golden Cava-Doodles shed very little or not at all, and as a result, may not cause allergies. There is no guarantee that a Petite Golden Cava-Doodles puppy will be completely "shed-less" or will not produce allergies, but many families with allergies and asthma have been able to live with a Petite Golden Cava-Doodles!

Watson's owner, Virginia, reports to us that Watson rings the doorbell when he wants in. She says it not a fluke, he truly is very consistent at ringing the doorbell when he decides he wants in the house. Checked regularly at our veterinarians for health maintenance and suitability for breeding;
Kept current on all immunizations, and anti-parasitic program including heartworms;
Highly socialized with much hands-on attention and daily play; and
Fed a balanced diet and are given health supplements (especially during heats, gestation and lactation).
