Dear Linda,

It has been quite a while since I’ve sent you a note, so I thought I should write to tell you how I am doing in my new home. Things are finally starting to warm up here in St. Louis (but I loved the snow this winter!). I just got a new electric fence installed – just in time for spring! At first I didn’t like going outside unless my mom came with me (I’m a real momma’s boy!) but now that I have some special toys outside and a juicy bone that I can gnaw on, I just love hanging out in the yard.

Bogey and friendsI’m very accomplished at fetch – and if there is a treat waiting for me when I come back I’ll drop the ball right at your feet. If you don’t have a treat – FORGET IT! My favorite game is keep away if there isn’t a treat involved. I also like to play keep away with the rags in the laundry room when mom isn’t smart enough to remember to close the door. But I’m really good about other things – I’ve never chewed on furniture or shoes or anything besides my toys. I’m particularly fond of the stuffed toys with the squeaky things inside – but it doesn’t take me long to get the squeaky thing out and then mom takes the toy away. I’m all housetrained now and even spent about 2 hours in the house alone this weekend – I was pretty pooped at the time though, so I didn’t have a chance to get into any trouble.

This first picture [top right] is me sitting on my “throne” (aka, the TV room sofa with lots of pillows). I like to climb up on the couch and snuggle at night when I’m sleepy. I think that’s mom’s favorite time of day! My favorite time of day is in the morning after mom lets me out – then I get to come back inside and climb on the bed with her!

Bogey and friendI’m just a little over 5 months old now and weigh about 40 pounds. I’m very handsome and all of mom’s friends say that I look just like a stuffed toy. My favorite thing to do on weekends is to go to the park – particularly when mom invites some friends along too and we can run around and play. Here some pictures of me and some of my buddies playing in the park. I think I’m the alpha male in the crowd – that or the other guys are just wimps!

The last picture is me digging in my toy basket for something fun to play with – I have toys all over the house. Mom likes to play a fun game at night where she takes all the toys and puts them in the basket and then I run and get them all back out one by one!

I’ll send you some more pictures in a couple of months – and I can’t wait to see pictures of all my brothers and sisters as they grow up.

Take care,
Bogey

P.S. – Mom says to tell you thank you and that I’m just the greatest puppy in the world and she never would have imagined she’d love me as much as she does!
