Goldendoodles are a hybrid dog produced by breeding a Golden Retriever with a Poodle. The size and color of the puppies depends on the size and colors of the parent dog backgrounds. Golden Retrievers vary in coat shades from light, to medium golden, and copper-reds. Poodle coats can be white, cream, apricot, golden, red, chocolate or black! The texture can be curly, tight curls, slightly curly or just plain silky! Goldendoodle size is determined mainly by the Poodle parent being either a Standard Poodle or a Miniature Poodle. Also, some Golden Retrievers are bred for larger size than "breed standard."

Size & Weight
(Since this is a hybrid and not a "standardized breed" it is important to note that specific sizes cannot be guaranteed for grown dog. Buyers must be willing to accept a puppy with the grown weight and heights being only estimates, as there is the possibility for puppies to be more or less than the estimated weight and height ranges above.)

"Poodle Hybrids - Are They Superior Pets?" ← Click to read excerpts from an article by Janice Biniok |
When two unrelated breeds of dogs are bred, the first generation offspring puppies are referred to as hybrids. Hybrid puppies have stronger health and are superior to either of the purebred parent dogs. This is referred to as "hybrid vigor."
Crossbreeding two different purebreds is advisable only if desirable traits and strong characteristics will be produced in the resulting offspring. Golden Retrievers and Poodles are likely to complement each other. By cross breeding them, puppies result that are vigorous, stable and mentally strong, possessing the best qualities of both breeds.

Goldendoodles combine the wonderful traits of both the Golden Retriever and the Poodle pure breeds, and these characteristics can include:
LoyalIntelligentGentleAffectionate Great Desire to Please Sunny Disposition Easy to Train Probable Low to No SheddingAllergy Reduction or Elimination
Goldendoodle puppies usually have a soft curl or wavy/shaggy coat, but not the wiry, stiff curls. Most Goldendoodles shed very little or not at all, and as a result, may not cause allergies. There is no guarantee that a Goldendoodle puppy will be completely "shed-less" or will not produce allergies, but many families with allergies and asthma have been able to live with a Goldendoodle!
See www.goldendoodles.com website study on Labradoodle and Goldendoodle coat types and level of shedding reported. With the more wavy coated Goldendoodles, there may be shedding of the "puppy coat" up to the age the adult coat fully grows in. Below are some Timshell Farm Goldendoodles!

Our puppies are bred from carefully selected parents with backgrounds that will result in puppies that are "the best of both breeds" - all of the desirable qualities and traits. You have to have strong backgrounds to produce quality puppies with the desired temperaments, sound health, loving personalities, and freedom from genetic weaknesses.

WatsonWatson's owner, Virginia, reports to us that Watson rings the doorbell when he wants in. She says it not a fluke, he truly is very consistent at ringing the doorbell when he decides he wants in the house. She says the doorbell looks a little mangled at this point but they don’t mind too much.... this is way too entertaining! |
